Our Story

A little History

Since 1968, Keep Australia Beautiful (Queensland) has inspired generations of Queenslanders to make a difference in their local communities. Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland was established in 1971 as an independent,
not-for-profit, Community based environmental organisation.  Our programs, competitions and campaigns motivate people to improve their local environment through personal initiative and community action. Under the Keep Australia Beautiful Network, Keep Australia Beautiful Queensland in 2013 adopted the new brand name
Keep Queensland Beautiful to make Queenslanders more aware that we all need to do more. Queensland is the most littered mainland state in Australia, so it is important to send a message loud and clear to Queensland that we need more action.

Since then, tens of thousands of dedicated Queenslanders and hundreds of committed local councils have worked towards improving their local environments through participation in our iconic programs; Tidy Towns Clean BeachesAdopt-a-Spot, and most recently the Cleaner Greener Schools accreditation (formerly known as the Green and Healthy Schools awards).

Who Are We?

Cleaner Greener Schools is an education initiative of Keep Queensland Beautiful.

Here at Cleaner Greener Schools, we know that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding in 2000, we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to bring our team’s fresh ideas and passion to the range of activities we’re involved in.

Through all of our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.

Registration is free and open to all schools
